Form and conduct of examinations, 2016

Notices by Faculty Boards, or other bodies concerned, of changes to the form and conduct of certain examinations to be held in 2016, by comparison with those examinations in 2015, are published below. Complete details of the form and conduct of all examinations are available from the Faculties or Departments concerned.

Asian and Middle Eastern Studies Tripos, Part II, 2016

Further to the Notice published on 11 November 2015 (Reporter, 6403, 2015–16, p. 120), the Faculty Board of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies give notice that, with effect from the examination to be held in 2016, the form of the examination for the following paper for Part II of the Tripos will be as specified below:

X.9. Judaism II (Paper C.8 of the Theological and Religious Studies Tripos)

The examination for this paper will consist of a three-hour written paper which will be divided into two parts. Part 1 will comprise two sections, A and B, corresponding to the set topics. Each section will contain at least eight questions. Candidates will be required to attempt three questions from Part 1, including at least one from each section. Part 2 will consist of three unseen passages, drawn from primary texts of classical rabbinic literature; candidates must provide a written commentary on any one of these, based on text-analysis skills developed in the classes, lectures, and supervisions.

No candidate’s preparation for the examination in 2016 will be affected.

Computer Science Tripos, Part II, 2016

Further to the Notice published on 21 October 2015 (Reporter, 6400, 2015–16, p. 56), the Faculty Board of Computer Science and Technology give notice that, with effect from the examinations to be held in 2016, the form of the examination for the following paper for Part II of the Tripos will be changed as follows:

For Paper 7, candidates will require the use of an approved calculator.

All other papers remain unchanged. Students are referred to the Faculty website at http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/teaching/exams/ for further details.

Theological and Religious Studies Tripos, Part IIb, 2016

Further to the Notice published on 11 November 2015 (Reporter, 6403, 2015–16, p. 123), the Faculty Board of Divinity give notice that, with effect from the examination to be held in 2016, the form of the examination for the following paper for Part IIb of the Tripos will be as specified below:

GROUP C

Paper C8. Judaism II (also serves as Paper X.9 of the Asian and Middle Eastern Studies Tripos)

The examination for this paper will consist of a three-hour written paper which will be divided into two parts. Part 1 will comprise two sections, A and B, corresponding to the set topics. Each section will contain at least eight questions. Candidates will be required to attempt three questions from Part 1, including at least one from each section. Part 2 will consist of three unseen passages, drawn from primary texts of classical rabbinic literature; candidates must provide a written commentary on any one of these, based on text-analysis skills developed in the classes, lectures, and supervisions.
