Each written coursework item has a limit of 10,000 words. All in-class tests will be of no more than 90 minutes’ duration (excluding designated reading time).

Examination in Modern British History for the M.Phil. Degree, 2015–16

The Degree Committee for History give notice that in the academical year 2015–16 the course options announced in Regulations 1(b) and 1(c) (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 502) are varied as follows:

Regulation 1(b).

Option 6, ‘The intellectuals and the masses’, will not be offered and ‘Faith and secularization’ will be offered in its place.

Regulation 1(c).

Option 2, ‘Cold War Europe and the USA’, will not be offered and ‘Sexuality and gender’ will be offered in its place.

Examination in World History for the M.Phil. Degree, 2015–16

The Degree Committee for History give notice that in the academical year 2015–16 the course options announced in Regulation 1(c) (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 512) are varied as follows:

Option 4, ‘Print cultures in African history: publics, politics, and identities’, will not be offered. Two additional options will be offered as ‘Global early modernity?’ and ‘Empires in comparative perspective’.
