Regulations for examinations

Management Studies Tripos

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 353)

With immediate effect

The General Board, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Business and Management, have approved an amendment to the regulations for the Tripos so as to include a workshop in the scheme of examination.

Regulation 10.

By amending the first sentence so as to read:

Candidates shall complete coursework for a workshop and for two elective courses, which shall be chosen from a list published by the Faculty Board of Business and Management.

The Board are satisfied that no candidate’s preparation for the examination in 2016 will be affected by this change.

Music Tripos (New Regulations)

With immediate effect

The regulations for the Tripos have been amended in order that candidates may no longer offer a Part Ib paper in Part II.

Regulation 13.

By removing the final sentence of the Regulation.

The Faculty Board of Music have confirmed that no candidate’s preparation for the examination in 2016 will be adversely affected.

Examination in American History for the M.Phil. Degree

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 478)

With immediate effect

The General Board, on the recommendation of the of Degree Committee for the Faculty of History, have approved an amendment to the regulations so as to amend the title of two courses specified under Regulation 1(c) as follows:

By replacing course 2, ‘The history of immigration, ethnicity, and nationality in the United States’, with ‘Varieties of American Empire’.

By replacing course 3, ‘War and society in the United States since 1917’, with ‘The origins of modern racism, 1750–1850’.

Examination in Early Modern History for the M.Phil. Degree

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 488)

With immediate effect

The General Board, on the recommendation of the of Degree Committee for the Faculty of History, have approved an amendment to Regulation 1(c) as follows:

By replacing course 6, ‘Space, place, and landscape in early modern history’, with ‘Global early modernity’.

Examination in Modern British History for the M.Phil. Degree

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 502)

With immediate effect

The General Board, on the recommendation of the of Degree Committee for the Faculty of History, have approved an amendment to the regulations so as to add a coursework element to the assessment to Regulation 1.

By inserting the following as Regulation 1(d):

(d)coursework as prescribed by the Degree Committee.

Examination in Modern European History for the M.Phil. Degree

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 503)

With immediate effect

The General Board, on the recommendation of the of Degree Committee for the Faculty of History, have approved an amendment to Regulation 1(c) as follows:

By removing topic 1, ‘Cold War Europe’, and renumbering the list accordingly.

Examination in World History for the M.Phil. Degree

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 512)

With immediate effect

The General Board, on the recommendation of the of Degree Committee for the Faculty of History, have approved an amendment to the regulations so as to add a language component to Regulation 1.

By inserting the following as Regulation 1(d):

(d)language training in a language offered by the Language Centre and relevant to the subject of research as agreed by the Director of the Master of Philosophy programme.
