Graces

Graces submitted to the Regent House on 18 February 2015

The Council submits the following Graces to the Regent House. These Graces, unless they are withdrawn or a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 111), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 27 February 2015.

1. That Regulation 6 for the Herchel Smith Medicinal Chemistry Fellowship and Studentship Fund (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 955) be amended so as to read:1

6. After provision has been made by the Managers in accordance with Regulation 3, any unexpended income may be applied at the discretion of the Managers for the support of research in the field of medicinal chemistry. Alternatively, any unexpended income in a financial year shall either be added to the capital of the Fund or accumulated for use as income in future years, as the Managers may determine.

2. That PricewaterhouseCoopers be reappointed, in accordance with Statute F I 5, to be the qualified accountants for the audit of the University’s financial statements for the financial year 2014–15.2

  • 1The General Board, on the recommendation of the Managers of the Fund, propose this amendment under Statute E I 8 to enable distributions to support research in the field of medicinal chemistry from income available after provision has been made for the Fellowship and Studentships.


  • 2The Audit Committee has recommended the reappointment of PricewaterhouseCoopers as External Auditors to the University for the current financial year. 


Graces to be submitted to the Regent House at a Congregation on 21 February 2015

The Council has sanctioned the submission of the following Graces to the Regent House at a Congregation to be held on 21 February 2015:

That the following persons be admitted to the degree of Master of Arts under the provisions of Statute B II 2:

9. Adam Yuet Chau, Fellow of St John’s College and University Senior Lecturer in the Department of East Asian Studies.

10. Kristian Franze, Fellow of St John’s College and University Lecturer in the Department of Physiology, Development, and Neuroscience.

11. Sylvia Green, Director in the Local Examinations Syndicate.

12. Elisabeth Jenny Rose, Assistant to the Director of the Hamilton Kerr Institute.

13. Caroline Sier, Fellow of Lucy Cavendish College.

14. John Bene’t Matthew Steinberg, Director in the Local Examinations Syndicate.

15. Martin David Vestergaard, Fellow of Wolfson College.
