Graces submitted to the Regent House on 16 July 2014: Correction

Grace 7 submitted to the Regent House on 16 July 2014 (Reporter, 6355, 2013–14, p. 752) contained an error.

The Grace included an amended Table of Fees; Table 2 contained the incorrect fee for the M.Phil. Degree in Architecture and Urban Design for overseas students for 2015–16. The entry for this M.Phil. Degree should have read as below. The opportunity is also being taken (a) to clarify that the higher fee for Home/EU students is the default that applies if the lower fee does not; and (b) to affirm that the fee for the course for the M.D. Degree may be paid annually.

Graces submitted to the Regent House on 24 September 2014

The Council submits the following Graces to the Regent House. These Graces, unless they are withdrawn or a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, 2013, p. 103), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 3 October 2014.

1. That on the recommendation of the Council and the Nominating Committee, Ms Sara Weller be appointed a member of the Council in class (e) for two years from 1 January 2015.1

2. That, notwithstanding Regulation 2 of the regulations for the University Advocate and Deputy University Advocates (Statutes and Ordinances, 2013, p. 692), and on the nomination of the Council, and after consultation with the University Advocate, Dr Jillaine Karen Seymour, of Sidney Sussex College, be reappointed Deputy University Advocate for one year from 1 October 2014.2

Footnotes

  • 1Ms Weller is a Non-Executive Director at Lloyds Banking Group, United Utilities plc, and the Department for Communities and Local Government. She is a member of the HEFCE Board and of HEFCE’s Remuneration Committee.

  • 2Professor Forsyth, who by Grace 7 of 24 April 2014 was appointed University Advocate for one year from 1 October 2014, is content for Dr Seymour to be reappointed for one year, notwithstanding the provision in Ordinance requiring a Deputy University Advocate to cease to hold office when a new University Advocate assumes office.
