Graces

Graces submitted to the Regent House on 5 February 2014

The Council submits the following Graces to the Regent House. These Graces, unless they are withdrawn or a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 103), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 14 February 2014.

1. That PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP be reappointed, in accordance with Statute F, II, 5, to be the qualified accountants for the audit of the University’s financial statements for the financial year 2013–14.1

2. That Regulation 13 for the Presentation and Admission of Candidates for Degrees (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 183) be amended so as to read:2

13. Every year the Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in the week next but one following the last week of Full Easter Term shall be days of General Admission to Degrees. On each day of General Admission there shall be one or more Congregations for General Admission to Degrees at such hours as the Vice-Chancellor shall appoint.

Footnotes

  • 1The Audit Committee have recommended the reappointment of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as External Auditors to the University for the current financial year.

  • 2By Grace 1 of 13 February 2013, Regulation 13 was amended to accommodate the addition of a fourth day for General Admission. However, the amendment did not take into account changes approved by Grace 4 of 6 October 2010 to the pattern of dates of Full Term and of General Admission for the period from 2020–21 to 2029–30, in order to ensure that there was sufficient time to conduct admissions interviews. This amendment enables the dates approved in 2010 to stand (with the addition of the fourth day for General Admission) and has been circulated to Senior Tutors and Praelectors of the Colleges and the Senate-House Syndics without comment.
