The Vice-Chancellor gives notice that the Discussion announced for Tuesday, 22 October 2013, will not take place as there are no Reports ready for discussion.
The Report published in this issue (on p. 35) will be discussed on Tuesday, 5 November 2013.
Members of the Regent House are reminded that electronic voting will be introduced in ballots of the Regent House from 6 November 2013 (see Reporter, 6295, 2012–13, p. 339). A website has been launched to provide information about the implementation of online voting and is available at http://www.ballots.admin.cam.ac.uk/. The website will also be a source of information about future ballots of the Regent House and give access to online voting in those ballots.
From 6 November 2013, online voting will be the default method of voting in ballots of the Regent House. Members will need their CRSid and a Raven password in order to participate in online voting. Regents who wish to continue voting by postal ballot will need to opt out of online voting by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, 5 November 2013. They can do so by filling in a form on the ballots website or by emailing their name, CRSid, and the University or College address to which voting papers should be sent, from a Cambridge email account, to ballots@admin.cam.ac.uk. Requests to receive hard-copy voting papers will take effect for one year from the promulgation of the Roll on 6 November 2013 and will need to be renewed each year. Enquiries about opting out or any other aspect of online voting may be addressed to ballots@admin.cam.ac.uk.
The Registrary, in his capacity as Clerk to the Septemviri, gives notice that Lord Irvine of Lairg, CHR, has resigned as Chair of the Septemviri. A Grace proposing a new appointment will be submitted to the Regent House once a new Chair has been identified.
