The Vice-Chancellor invites those qualified under the regulations for Discussions (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 107) to attend a Discussion in the Senate-House, on Tuesday, 20 November 2012, at 2 p.m., for the discussion of:
1. Report of the Review Panel, dated 10 October 2012, to the Council and the General Board of the Review of the University’s IT infrastructure and support (Reporter, 2012–13, p. 57).
2. Consultation paper on amendments to the Second Joint Report of the Council and the General Board on the pay and grading scheme for non-clinical staff (Reporter, 2012–13, p. 83).
3. Report of the General Board, dated 31 October 2012, on the establishment of a Professorship of Experimental Psychology (see p. 116).
4. Report of the General Board, dated 5 November 2012, on the establishment of a Readership in Comparative Oncology and Genetics (see p. 116).
The Vice-Chancellor gives notice that he has received with gratitude a benefaction of £96,000 from the Women’s Foundation, to be used over three years to provide scholarships to students accepted onto the Master of Philosophy degree course in Multi-disciplinary Gender Studies who have graduated (or will have graduated prior to starting the course) from a university in Hong Kong.
The Vice-Chancellor gives notice, in accordance with Statute A, VIII, 2 and the regulations for General Admission to Degrees, that Congregations will be held on the following days in the academical years 2012–13 and 2013–14.

4Dates and times to be confirmed. The days of General Admission are set by regulation. It is expected that a Report will be presented to the Council proposing a change to the regulations from three to four days. These Congregations and times will be confirmed if and when approval is given to the Report by the Regent House.
The Council has approved the naming of the Centre for Brain Repair, within the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, as the ‘John van Geest Centre for Brain Repair’ to commemorate the generous support provided by the John and Lucille van Geest Foundation, which has given over £12 million to the Centre over the past 20 years.
