The Vice-Chancellor invites those qualified under the regulations for Discussions (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 107) to attend a Discussion in the Senate-House, on Tuesday, 20 November 2012, at 2 p.m., for the discussion of:

1. Report of the Review Panel, dated 10 October 2012, to the Council and the General Board of the Review of the University’s IT infrastructure and support (Reporter, 2012–13, p. 57).

2. Consultation paper on amendments to the Second Joint Report of the Council and the General Board on the pay and grading scheme for non-clinical staff (Reporter, 2012–13, p. 83).

3. Report of the General Board, dated 31 October 2012, on the establishment of a Professorship of Experimental Psychology (see p. 116).

4. Report of the General Board, dated 5 November 2012, on the establishment of a Readership in Comparative Oncology and Genetics (see p. 116).

Notice of a benefaction

1 November 2012

The Vice-Chancellor gives notice that he has received with gratitude a benefaction of £96,000 from the Women’s Foundation, to be used over three years to provide scholarships to students accepted onto the Master of Philosophy degree course in Multi-disciplinary Gender Studies who have graduated (or will have graduated prior to starting the course) from a university in Hong Kong.

Centre for Brain Repair: Notice

The Council has approved the naming of the Centre for Brain Repair, within the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, as the ‘John van Geest Centre for Brain Repair’ to commemorate the generous support provided by the John and Lucille van Geest Foundation, which has given over £12 million to the Centre over the past 20 years.
