Graces

Graces submitted to the Regent House on 17 October 2012

The Council submits the following Graces to the Regent House. These Graces, other than any which is withdrawn or for which a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 107), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 26 October 2012.

1. That the recommendations in paragraph 10 of the first-stage Report of the Council, dated 30 June 2012, on the restructuring and rationalization of hospital facilities for the Department of Veterinary Medicine at West Cambridge (Reporter, 2011–12, p. 760) be approved.

2. That the recommendations in paragraph 10 of the first-stage Report of the Council, dated 30 June 2012, on the construction of a new building for the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at West Cambridge (Reporter, 2011–12, p. 761) be approved.

3. That the recommendations in paragraph 7 of the Report of the General Board, dated 11 July 2012, on the establishment of a Professorship of Empirical Macroeconomics (Reporter, 2011–12, p. 812) be approved.

4. That the recommendations in paragraph 5 of the Report of the General Board, dated 11 July 2012, on the establishment of a Harold Samuel Professorship of Law and Environmental Policy (Reporter, 2011–12, p. 814) be approved.

5. That the recommendations in paragraph 5 of the Report of the General Board, dated 11 July 2012, on the re-establishment of a Professorship of Stroke Medicine (Reporter, 2011–12, p. 814) be approved.

Graces to be submitted to the Regent House at a Congregation on 20 October 2012

The Council has sanctioned the submission of the following Graces to the Regent House at a Congregation to be held on 20 October 2012:

That the following persons be admitted to the degree of Master of Arts under the provisions of Statute B, III, 6:

1. Philip Michael Allmendinger, Fellow of Clare College, Professor of Land Economy in the Department of Land Economy, and Head of Department.

2. David John Barnard, Advisory Officer in the Estate Management and Building Service of the University Offices.

3. Dame Carol Mary Black, Principal of Newnham College.

4. Kevin Savio Marc Coutinho, of St Edmund’s College, Administrative Officer in the Human Resources Division of the University Offices.

5. Michelle Reneé Ellefson, of Gonville and Caius College, University Lecturer in the Faculty of Education.

6. Vincent Jeyaseelan Gnanapragasam, University Lecturer in the Department of Surgery.

7. David Philip Judge, Computer Officer in the Department of Genetics.

8. Michael Hector Ramage, Fellow of Sidney Sussex College and University Senior Lecturer in the Department of Architecture.

9. Christine Jannette Watson, Fellow of Newnham College and Professor of Cell and Cancer Biology in the Department of Pathology.
