Three University Lectureships in the Faculty of Economics

Salary: £36,715–£46,510 a year.

Applications are invited for three Lectureships in the Faculty, which are available from 1 September 2011. A lectureship is a tenured position with a five-year probationary period. The Faculty is seeking strong applicants across all fields of economics. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. Degree by September 2011.

Category Manager – Central Purchasing Office (Part-time) in the Finance Division

Salary: £25,751–£29,853 a year, pro rata.

The University has a non-pay annual spend of approximately £250m and is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced professional to join a small team providing procurement support services to approximately 200 departments.

The role-holder will manage a defined area of spend and assist with the dissemination of best procurement practices across the University. He or she will use initiative to identify priority categories and design, sell, and implement solutions which reduce cost and contribute to the University’s overall Procurement Strategy. Drawing on experience in tendering, whole-life costing evaluation, contract formation, and management, the role-holder will deliver best value agreements and assist non-procurement staff to obtain value for money.

The successful applicant will have evidenced their ability to provide a professional procurement service, including responsibility for tendering and supply chain management, and be, or about to become, fully CIPS-qualified or equivalent. The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal, influencing, presentation, analytical, and communication skills, and will ideally have an area of expertise aligned to one of the University’s major commodity expenditure areas.
