Lady Margaret Hall

STIPENDIARY LECTURESHIP IN CLASSICS

Lady Margaret Hall proposes to appoint a stipendiary lecturer in Classics for one year from 1 September 2010 to teach undergraduates in tutorials for an average of six hours a week during term and to take a share in the personal tutoring of undergraduates reading Classics at Lady Margaret Hall. Candidates should be able to teach some of the language and literature parts of Classical Honour Moderations and one or more of the Greek literary subjects in Greats (the second part of the course, following Moderations).

The salary will be pro rata on the Senior Tutors’ Committee scale of £12,137 to £13,660 a year (at 2009–10 rates), plus some free meals. A shared teaching room will be provided. St John’s College

COLLEGE LIBRARIAN

Applications are invited for the post of College Librarian to lead and work with a small team of Library staff, providing reader services both to members of the College and to researchers from outside it, and to oversee all aspects of the day-to-day administration of the College Library. Applicants should have a degree, a professional library qualification, and a substantial record of library experience at an advanced professional level. Experience of the introduction and use of electronic resources and of automated cataloguing will also be essential. The post will be on the Grade 7 scale (£28,893 – £35,546 with a discretionary range to £38,951 a year).

Wadham College

STIPENDIARY LECTURER IN PHILOSOPHY

Applications are invited for a Stipendiary Lectureship in Philosophy, tenable from 1 October 2010 to 21 December 2012.

The appointee will be required to provide up to eight hours of tutorial teaching a week during term, and to participate in the pastoral care of students and the administration of Philosophy within the College, including admissions and setting/marking college examinations. The College has a particular requirement for teaching cover for ethics and moral philosophy. The stipend will be on a scale from £16,182 to £16,667 a year.
