Under-Librarian (Head of the Rare Books Department) in the University Library

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and proactive individual to work at the heart of one of the world’s major research libraries with an outstanding collection of rare books.

The successful candidate will have an informed understanding of the history of printing and book production and a working knowledge of Latin and/or some modern European languages. He or she will also have excellent management, organizational, and communication skills and be able to demonstrate a strong interest in user education, electronic resources, digitization, and preservation. He or she should have a good honours degree, research experience in a relevant area, and/or a professional qualification in librarianship, together with practical experience of rare book librarianship. The salary will be in the range of £36,715 to £46,510 a year.
