Antiquarian Society

The next meeting will be held on Monday, 10 May, at 6 p.m., in the Law Faculty Building, West Road. Professor Simon Keynes will speak on John Mitchell Kemble (1807–57): apostle, revolutionary, and Anglo-Saxonist. Members may bring guests and junior members of the University are welcome at all meetings.

Bibliographical Society

The next meeting of the Society will be on Wednesday, 5 May, at 5 p.m., in the Morison Room of the University Library.

Dr David Adams, Munby Fellow, will give a talk entitled The printing and publishing background to the London Leveller movement, 1640–1649.

Tea will be served from 4.30 p.m. All are welcome.

Historical Society

Professor Ann Laura Stoler (New School for Social Research, New York) will give a keynote lecture on Reason aside: reflections on the enlightenment and empire at a one-day meeting of the Historical Society, on Tuesday, 25 May 2010, in Queens’ College.
