Notices By The General Board

Faculty Board of Biology: Notice

The General Board, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Biology, have amended Schedule I to the general regulations for the constitution of the Faculty Boards (The composition of the Faculty Boards, Statutes and Ordinances, p. 578) by increasing from four to six the members of the Faculty Board in class (e), the total number to read 30. In Schedule III (Membership of Faculty Boards in class (e)) the second column (Representatives of cognate studies and method of appointment) under Biology has been corrected by replacing a redundant reference to the Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology Syndicate by a reference to one person appointed by the Faculty Board of Physics and Chemistry; and the third column (Holders of specified offices) has been amended by adding the following:

The Director of Medical and Veterinary Education in the Faculty of Biology;

The Director of the Graduate School of Life Sciences.

Lauterpacht Research Centre for International Law: Notice

The General Board, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Law, have amended the regulations for the Staff of the Lauterpacht Research Centre for International Law (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 614), with immediate effect, so as to remove the restriction that the office of Director be held concurrently with a University office in the Faculty of Law. The regulations have been amended so as to read:

Staff of the Research Centre

1. There shall be a University office of Director of the Research Centre, which may be held concurrently with another University office and shall be held on such terms and conditions as the General Board may from time to time determine.

2. There shall be a University office of Deputy Director of the Research Centre which shall be held concurrently with a University office in the Faculty of Law.

3. Appointments and reappointments to the office of Director shall be made by the General Board on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Law. If the office is held concurrently with another University office, appointments and reappointments shall be made for such periods not exceeding four years at a time as shall be determined by the General Board on the recommendation of the Faculty Board.

4. Appointments and reappointments to the office of Deputy Director shall be made by the General Board on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Law, and shall be for such periods not exceeding four years at a time as shall be determined by the General Board on the recommendation of the Faculty Board.

5. Under the general control of the Committee of Management, the Director shall be the administrative Head of the Research Centre. The Director and the Deputy Director shall be responsible for the direction of study and research in the Centre.

Senior Academic Promotions Committees, 1 October 2010 exercise: Amendment

The Membership of the Technology Sub-Committee, published on 7 October 2009 (Reporter, p. 16) has been amended as follows:

Professor Ian Hutchings is to replace Professor Malcolm Bolton.
