Professorship of Sociology: Notice

The Board of Electors to the Professorship of Sociology invite applications for this Professorship from persons whose work falls within the general field of Sociology to take up appointment on 1 October 2010 or as soon as possible thereafter.

University Office

University Lecturer in European Law in the Faculty of Law

The Faculty of Law is seeking to appoint an appropriately qualified individual to a University Lectureship in European Union Law from 1 October 2010. Preference will be given to a candidate whose teaching and research interests lie in the constitutional and institutional law of the European Union. The person appointed will teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level, conduct and supervise research, and participate in the general work of the Faculty.

Appointments made at University Lecturer level will be for an initial period of three or five years, with the possibility of reappointment to the retiring age, subject to satisfactory performance. The salary will be in the range of £36,715 to £46,510 a year.

Temporary Lecturer in Public Law/Jurisprudence in the Faculty of Law

The Faculty of Law invites applications for a Temporary Lectureship (two-year fixed term) in either Public Law or Jurisprudence to take up appointment on 1 September 2010 for a fixed period of two years. The person appointed would be required to contribute to the Faculty’s teaching in Public Law or Jurisprudence at undergraduate and possibly postgraduate level, and to assist with examining.
