Regulations For Examinations

The General Board give notice that, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board or other authority concerned, the regulations for certain University examinations have been amended as follows:

Theological and Religious Studies Tripos

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 423)

With effect from 1 October 2010

The regulations for Part IIa of the Theological and Religious Studies Tripos have been amended so as to allow a candidate for Part IIa in the year next after obtaining Honours in an Honours examination other than Part I of the Theological and Religious Studies Tripos, and who has kept seven terms, to offer an additional paper chosen from Group B, in addition to the four papers required by the regulations.

Regulation 25.

By inserting a new provision (i) into the regulation, so as to read:

(i)a candidate who so wishes may offer as an additional paper another paper chosen from Group B;

and by renumbering the current provisions (i)–(iii), as provisions (ii)–(iv).

The Faculty Board of Divinity are satisfied that no candidate’s preparation for the examination in 2011 will be affected by this amendment.

Paper D2(b). The use and interpretation of the Bible

By amending the detail for this paper so as to read:

This paper will be concerned with the theological interpretation of a basic Christian text, the Gospel of John. It will explore the practice of theological interpretation of scripture with reference to this Gospel, drawing on modern and premodern theologians and commentators.
