Form and Conduct of Examinations, 2009–10

Notices by Faculty Boards, or other bodies concerned, of changes to the form and conduct of certain examinations to be held in 2009–10, by comparison with those examinations in 2009, are published below. Complete details of the form and conduct of all examinations are available from the Faculties or Departments concerned.

Architecture Tripos, Part II, 2010: Notice

The Faculty Board of Architecture and History of Art give notice of the following correction to the notice published on 2 December 2009 (Reporter, p. 351):

Paper 2. Introduction to the principles of professional practice

The examination consists of a three-hour written examination and the examination paper consists of four sections: a mandatory section requiring a short definition or explanation of certain key terms, and three further sections from each of which candidates must answer one question.

Geographical Tripos, Part Ib, 2010: Notice

The Examiners for Part Ib of the Geographical Tripos give notice that, for the examination to be held in 2010, the papers to be offered will be examined as shown in the table below. In this table, the following terms are defined:

1.‘Three-hour examination’: The Papers will be examined by a conventional unseen three-hour examination in which candidates will be asked to attempt three questions from a choice of not less than nine questions.

2.‘Two+1 examination’: The assessment of such Papers will consist of a two-hour examination in which candidates will be asked to attempt two questions from a choice of not less than six questions. The Papers will be undivided. In addition, there will be assessed course-work to be submitted not later than the Division of the Easter Term in the year of the examination. The nature of the course-work required will be determined by the University Teaching Officer responsible for the co-ordination of the course who will provide, at the first lecture of the course, written details of the procedures which will be followed. The course-work will be equivalent to one question in quantity and for assessment in determining an overall mark for the Paper.
