The next meeting of the Society will be on Wednesday, 18 November, at 5 p.m., in the Morison Room of the University Library. Dr Cristina Dondi will give a talk entitled The Venetian book-trade in the 15th century; material evidence for the economic and social history of the Renaissance. Tea will be served from 4.30 p.m. All are welcome.
Dr Bill O’Neill, Reader in Laser Engineering, Department of Engineering, will give a lecture entitled Laser photonics: using lasers in engineering and materials science, on Monday, 16 November. The lecture will take place from 7.30 to 9 p.m., in the Wolfson Lecture Theatre, Churchill College.
