DARBY FELLOWSHIP IN HISTORY (FIVE YEARS, FIXED-TERM)

Lincoln College invites applications from candidates in the early stages of an academic career for a five-year fixed-term, non-renewable Darby Fellowship in History with effect from 1 October 2009, or as soon as possible thereafter. Candidates will normally have either recently obtained a doctorate in History, or be in the final stages of completing it.

The Darby Fellow will be required to provide up to twelve weighted hours of tutorial teaching a week, averaged over the academic year, with an emphasis upon 19th and 20th century history, particularly of the British Isles, and upon historiography and method.

The salary offered currently ranges from £29,704 to £33,432 a year (points 30-34 on the national pay scale for HE), and the Fellow enjoys full Common Room rights, a hospitality credit, research support funding, and membership of the USS pension scheme.
