University Lecturer / Honorary Consultant in Transplantation Medicine in the Department of Medicine

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for this new post. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an appropriate programme of research, to participate in teaching, and to provide clinical service in nephrology with a particular emphasis on renal transplantation within the flagship Transplantation Service at Addenbrooke's.

The position will be held in the Division of Renal Medicine (Department of Medicine), which has a focus on immunology, autoimmunity, and transplantation, with strengths in basic, translational, and clinical research (http://www.med.cam.ac.uk/nephrology/index.html). The successful applicant will be part of the vibrant Cambridge immunology community (http://www.immunology.cam.ac.uk).

Application will be made to the Addenbrooke's NHS Trust for the award of an Honorary Consultant contract. Appointment will be to the retiring age, subject to satisfactory completion of a probationary period. The salary will be in the range of £74,504 to £100,446 a year, according to the level of seniority.

Veterinary Neurologist in the Department of Veterinary Medicine

A veterinary neurologist who has attained the Diploma of the ECVN or ACVIM (Neurology) is required to aid in provision of Clinical Neurology services and undergraduate teaching in the Department. This exciting post will allow the appointee to organize the provision of clinical neurology services, and develop her or his clinical skills in a well-equipped and strong academic environment. Participation in the practical instruction of veterinary students, the training of the resident, and the out-of-hours rota will form part of the position.

The salary will be on the scale of £36,532 to £46,278 a year.

Candidates must be members of the RCVS, or hold a degree qualifying them for membership, and also hold the relevant European or American Diploma.

The Careers Service serves all postgraduate and undergraduate students in all subjects, in all years, offering information and advice covering all career sectors. Over 20,000 students are engaged with the Service, which works with over 3,000 organizations, running events and promoting their opportunities. Our advice and guidance starts by helping students make career choice decisions, through to them making successful applications and being interviewed.

A temporary, part-time (three days a week to include Fridays) Careers Adviser appointment is available for four months (September to December 2009). This is for an additional member of the team, to help the Service provide further support to current students and recent graduates during difficult economic times. This role will focus on helping students with general queries surrounding careers choice decisions, creative searching for opportunities, preparing a curriculum vitae, making effective applications, and succeeding at job interviews. The role will involve conducting one-to-one discussions with students, and running small group sessions. The salary will be in the range of £36,532 to £46,278 a year (pro-rata).

Applicants should be confident, articulate, and have empathy for, and experience of working with, bright, ambitious students of exceptional ability. First hand experience of working in either a university Careers Service, or in a graduate recruitment role would be highly desirable. The Service will offer any necessary training and provide an intensive induction programme.

Fixed-term Lectureship in Industrial Sustainability in the Department of Engineering

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a Fixed-term Lectureship in Industrial Sustainability.

Candidates should have a proven record of scholarship and research in the area of Industrial Sustainability, technology development and applications, and will be expected to contribute directly to the research and teaching of the Institute of Manufacturing.

The Institute enjoys an international reputation for high-quality, innovative, and industry-relevant research. In addition, the post will involve contributing to the teaching of the undergraduate courses.

The successful candidate will take up the appointment as soon as possible, but no later than 1 January 2010. The appointment will be for five years in the first instance, and the Department's probationary scheme will apply to the successful candidate. The current pensionable scale of stipends is in the range of £36,533 to £46,278 a year.
