Professor Sir DEREK BOWETT, CBE, M.A., LL.D., QC, FBA, Emeritus Whewell Professor of International Law, President of Queens' College 1970-1982, Fellow of Queens' College 1960-1970 and 1982-1991, Life Fellow 1991-2009, Honorary Fellow of Queens' and of Downing Colleges, died on 23 May 2009, aged 82 years.
