Downing College and New Hall (Murray Edwards College)

COLLEGE TEACHING OFFICER AND FELLOW IN HUMAN GEOGRAPHY

Applications are invited for a College Teaching Officer and Fellow in Human Geography, with a preference for teaching in the fields of Development or Conservation, with effect from 1 September 2009. The appointment will be for a single fixed term of three years.

The person appointed will be elected to a Fellowship at Downing College and will be appointed as a College Lecturer at Murray Edwards College (New Hall). He or she will be expected to reside in Cambridge, to provide up to ten hours of supervision teaching a week between the two Colleges, and to engage in an independent research programme. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will also give some lectures each year for the Department of Geography.

The salary of the College Teaching Officer will be on an incremental scale starting at £27,183 a year, and reviewed annually in line with national academic stipends.
