Wadham College

ONE-YEAR STIPENDIARY LECTURERSHIP IN ECONOMICS

The College proposes to appoint a six-hour Stipendiary Lecturer in Economics for the academical year 2009-10 to cover the College's teaching and organizational needs in Economics whilst it seeks to appoint a second University Lecturer.

The Lecturer will be required to give six hours a week of tutorials during the eight weeks of Full Term (the College allows Stipendiary Lecturers to 'weight' their hours, thus required real contact hours may be slightly less) and will be expected to contribute to the teaching of the core first- and/or second-year papers. It is also hoped that the Lecturer will offer teaching in one or more optional subjects. In addition, the Lecturer will be expected to lead in the running of Economics in the College, including participating in the admissions process, arranging teaching, setting and marking College examinations, and assisting with the pastoral care and academic oversight of all undergraduates reading Economics.

The stipend will be on a scale starting at £12,076 a year and will be pensionable. The Lecturer will be a member of the Wadham Senior Common Room, will be entitled to three meals a week during term time free of charge, and will be paid a small allowance to entertain undergraduates as part of regular pastoral contact.

Further particulars are available at http://www.wadham.ox.ac.uk/. The closing date for applications is 25 June 2009.
