IT DIRECTOR

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the new post of IT Director at St John's College which also attracts a Fellowship under Title E.

The successful candidate will be educated to at least degree level, and probably higher degree level, and will have a proven record of the application of IT within an academic and/or research environment. Management experience, together with excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills to cover a wide spectrum of people is essential. The principal duties of the post will include the identification and implementation of an IT strategy within the context of the College's Strategic Plan; chairing relevant committees; advising and liaising with senior staff on the College's strategic IT requirements, software and hardware procurement, IT training strategy, and strategic direction of the College's Computer Department; and oversight of major projects.

It is envisaged that the post will require a flexible commitment amounting to the equivalent of two days a week and could be held in conjunction with another post. Remuneration will be pro rata within the University Senior Lecturer Scale, currently £49,096 to £52,086 a year.
