STIPENDIARY LECTURERSHIP IN MACROECONOMICS

Applications are invited for a one-year, fixed-term Stipendiary Lecturership in Economics for the 2009-10 academical year, tenable from 15 September 2009, or as soon as possible thereafter.

Candidates must be able to provide teaching for the macroeconomics and mathematics elements of the PPE Prelims. They must in addition be able to offer the second-year macroeconomics core course and the quantitative economics core course (both for first examination in 2010). The salary will be in the range of £24,152 to £27,183, depending on experience (at current levels; subject to nationally agreed pay awards). The Lecturer will be a member of the Senior Common Room. He or she will have a teaching room in College and will be entitled to lunch and dinner free of charge in College throughout the year when the kitchens are open, and to a number of other benefits.

The appointee will be required to provide up to eight contact hours of tutorial teaching a week averaged over the three eight-week terms of the year. In addition, the successful applicant will be responsible, jointly with Professor Mukerji (the Senior Fellow in Economics) for the organization of the subject and for the provision of pastoral care and the academic welfare of University College's students in relevant subjects. The Lecturer will also be required to set start-of-term collections (mock college examinations), participate in the admissions interviews in Michaelmas Term 2009, and to assist with data-entry for admissions through the ADSS computer system.
