Clerk Maxwell Scholarship: Notice

The Electors to the Clerk Maxwell Scholarship give notice that an election to the Scholarship will be made as soon as possible.

The Scholarship is for the advancement by original research of experimental physics, especially electricity, magnetism, and heat. Any member of the University who has been a student for one term or more at the Cavendish Laboratory is eligible. The Scholarship will be tenable for a period determined by the Electors of not more than three years from a date not later than 1 October 2009. The value will be based on that of an EPSRC Studentship and account may be taken of any other funds available to the elected student before the value is determined.

Candidates are invited to send their applications to the Academic Secretary of the Department of Physics, JJ Thomson Avenue, Cambridge, CB3 0HE (email rach2@cam.ac.uk), so as to arrive not later than 19 June 2009, together with such evidence of their qualifications as they think fit, a clear statement of the course of research which they propose to pursue, and the names and contact details of two referees.
