Gonville and Caius College

TEACHING ASSOCIATES

Gonville and Caius College wishes to appoint up to ten non-stipendiary Teaching Associates to help provide supervision for undergraduate students of the College. Applications for appointment are welcome from current or potential supervisors in any field, though at the moment there is a particular need for supervision in certain subjects listed on the College's website. Priority will naturally be given to securing supervision in those subjects. It is expected that Teaching Associates will be able and willing to provide around four hours of supervision each week during Full Term. As well as being paid at the standard rate for all supervisions provided, Teaching Associates will be entitled to one free meal each week during term with the Fellows of the College, and to bring one paying guest to High Table each term. Although made annually, appointments may be renewed. Applicants are eligible for appointment only if they have no current affiliation to any College in the University. The assumption is that most applicants will be engaged in research in the University at postdoctoral level, but this is only an assumption.

Applications for appointment, consisting of a letter indicating the subjects in which supervision could be provided and for how many hours, together with a curriculum vitae, should be sent to the Senior Tutor of the College before the end of May in each year. Relevant Directors of Studies will be asked to comment on the applications received and, in the light of their expressions of need and interest, recommendations will be made to the College Council by the Education Committee. Applicants should receive a response from the College by the middle of July.
