Review of disciplinary, dismissal, and grievance procedures: responses to the white paper

4 May 2009

On 4 December 2008 (Reporter, p. 301), the Council and the General Board published a white paper setting out in developed form the policy of the Council and the General Board with respect to possible changes to the University's disciplinary, dismissal, and grievance procedures for officers (Statute U). The white paper built upon an earlier green paper (Reporter, 2007-08, p. 404). The purpose of the white paper was to consult widely upon the means of carrying forward that policy. Written responses to the consultation, which also included a Discussion of the Regent House (Reporter, p. 490) and a series of open meetings and presentations, were invited by the end of the Lent Term 2009. The written responses received by the Registrary are published on the Council's website (http://raven.intranet.admin.cam.ac.uk/committee/council/statuteu.aspx). The Council and the General Board will respond to those written responses and to the remarks made in the Discussion in a Joint Report proposing legislation for the approval of the University. The Discussion on the Joint Report will take place in the Michaelmas Term 2009.
