Notice of benefactions

The Vice-Chancellor gives notice that she has received with gratitude the following benefactions:

(i) a benefaction of £733,000 from BP plc to provide undergraduate prizes and awards and postgraduate student study awards in the Departments of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Engineering, and Physics, and in Judge Business School for a minimum of three years;
(ii) a benefaction of up to £243,000, payable in five instalments, from Man Group plc. The terms of the donation allow the spending of both income and capital of the benefaction to support doctoral research students in statistics in the Department of Engineering and the Statistical Laboratory.

Correction

It is regretted that a typographical error appeared in the Notice of the benefaction from the Jerry Lee Foundation (Reporter, p. 658). The benefaction amounts to £1m and not $1m. The corrected Notice reads:

The Vice-Chancellor gives notice that she has received with gratitude notice of a generous benefaction totalling £1,000,000 over ten years from the Jerry Lee Foundation to support postgraduate scholarships or postdoctoral fellowships relating to research in the area of experimental criminology in the Institute of Criminology. The terms of the donation allow the spending of both income and capital of the benefaction.
