The regulations in respect of the Oriental Studies Tripos have been amended to allow candidates who have spent a year in Japan and who are returning to take the examination for Part II of the Oriental Studies Tripos, offering Japanese Studies as a whole subject under Schedule IIA, to offer a paper in elementary Korean.
Regulation 11(a).
By including the following new paper:

K. 1. Elementary Korean.

(6) Japanese Studies
By amending the detail for this option so as to read:
J. 10, 12, 13; one paper chosen from J. 14-18, K. 1; a dissertation; Japanese oral.
The Faculty Board of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies have confirmed that no candidate's preparation for the examinations in 2010 and 2011 will be affected by these changes.
