AWiSE and WiSETI Event: Notice

To celebrate the 800th Anniversary of the University, Cambridge AWiSE (Association for Women in Science and Engineering) and WiSETI (Women in Science, Engineering, and Technology Initiative) are looking at the role of women in science at the University of Cambridge and in the wider community.

The second event in this series, Women in science: past, present, and future, will take place from 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday, 12 May 2009, at St Mary's School, Bateman Street. The event will feature three women working in science, engineering, and technology today: Anne Miller, of the Creativity Partnership, Val Gibson, of the Cavendish Laboratory, and Suzanne Cohen, of MedImmune. The speakers will talk about their personal career histories, discuss the qualities they believe women need to succeed, what the current challenges are in their fields, and why they love what they do now.

The event is free, but please register in advance (email info@camawise.org.uk).
