Round Table Commonwealth Awards for Young Scholars

In celebration of the centenary of The Round Table: The Commonwealth Journal of International Affairs and the 60th anniversary of the modern Commonwealth, the Round Table Commonwealth Awards for Young Scholars will be awarded to six students studying at a UK university in 2009-10. Each student will undertake a three-week study visit to a Commonwealth country as part of her or his existing academic research projects (either undergraduate or postgraduate). On their return, students will write up their research into an article for publication in The Round Table and disseminate their findings through presentations to other university students. The awards will offer an unrivalled professional opportunity and an unforgettable experience for personal development to promising students with little or no experience of the Commonwealth, and will provide an initial stepping stone onto a promising academic career.

Further information, a guidance note, and an application form are available at http://www.moot.org.uk/CentenaryAwards.asp. Applicants should complete the application form and return it, with a sample of their academic work and reference from their research project supervisor, to the Round Table Hodson Committee (email roundtablecentenary@hotmail.co.uk), by 5 p.m. on Monday, 8 June 2009.
