Members of the University Technology Appeal Tribunal and other bodies: Notice

Appointments will be made by the University Council to the Technology Appeal Tribunal Panel (TAT). Prospective members of this panel should be members of the Regent House and have had suitable experience in this area, although the University would wish to ensure it had a broad mix of skills and relevant interests represented on the panel given the different nature of the cases that might occasionally be referred to it.

The University's Ordinances set out the agreed process for adjudication by a Referee and the subsequent possibility of appeal to a Technology Appeal Tribunal (see Statutes and Ordinances, 2008, p. 960, under the heading 'Adjudication and Appeal', or go to http://www.admin.cam.ac.uk/univ/so/pdfs/cso_4_ordinance13.941_968.pdf).

The Council also appoints members to serve on a number of internal and external bodies (Courts, Boards, Syndicates, Committees, etc., as published in the Officers Number of the Reporter). In order to assist the Council in this work, a database is maintained of members of the Regent House who are known to be willing to serve on various bodies to which appointments are made, and members of the Regent House are invited to offer themselves for such service.

The Council invites members of the Regent House to contact Mary Dezille, Nominations Secretary, Secretariat, The Old Schools (email md286@admin.cam.ac.uk), if they are interested in being considered for these vacancies. It would be helpful if members could forward a short résumé, including any University or College office held and any other relevant experience, for information.

The Council will not necessarily appoint all those who volunteer, nor will appointments be restricted to those whose names come forward in this way.
