University of Oxford and St John's College

TWO-YEAR DEPARTMENTAL LECTURERSHIP IN MODERN BRITISH HISTORY

Applications are invited for a two-year, fixed-term Departmental Lecturership in Modern British History, tenable from 1 October 2009. The appointment is to fulfil teaching needs arising from a period of academic leave, resulting from the award of a Philip Leverhulme Prize to a current post-holder, and is non-renewable. Applications are invited from those with active research interests in any field of British history between 1815 and the present, but the History Faculty has a particular need for teaching and supervision in the nineteenth century.

The successful candidate will be appointed to a two-year Departmental Lecturership in the Faculty of History, and a fixed-term Supernumerary Fellowship at St John's College for the same period. The salary will be in the range of £28,839 to £30,594 a year.

Further particulars are available at http://www.history.ox.ac.uk/faculty/jobs/index.htm, or may be obtained from the Board Office, History Faculty, Old Boys' High School, George Street, Oxford, OX1 2RL (email board.admin@history.ox.ac.uk). Applications (to this address) must arrive no later than 12 noon on Thursday, 7 May 2009.
