STIPENDIARY LECTURERSHIP IN ENGINEERING

The College proposes, if there is a suitable candidate, to appoint a Stipendiary Lecturer in Engineering, tenable from 1 October 2009 until 30 September 2010. The Lecturer will be required to undertake tutorial or class teaching of undergraduates of the College (or by exchange with other Colleges) up to a maximum of six (weighted) hours a week, averaged over the three terms of the academical year, to set and mark College examinations, and to participate in the admissions process. The Lecturer will be expected to teach Engineering students the following subjects: Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering, and at least some of the Engineering Mathematics courses (that is: courses P1 and P2 in the first year, A2 in the second year, and A2 and A3 in the third year).

It is anticipated that shortlisted candidates will be interviewed late in the week of 11 May 2009.

STIPENDIARY LECTURERSHIP IN MODERN LANGUAGES (GERMAN)

The College proposes, if there is a suitable candidate, to appoint a Stipendiary Lecturer in Modern Languages, tenable from 1 October 2009 until 30 September 2011, with the possibility of renewal for one further year. The Lecturer will be required to undertake tutorial or class teaching of undergraduates of the College (or by exchange with other Colleges) up to a maximum of eight (weighted) hours a week, averaged over the three terms of the academical year, to set and mark College examinations, and to participate in the admissions process. The Lecturer must be able to teach German Literature Papers III and IV for Modern Languages Prelims, and Papers VIII (German Literature from 1730 to the present) and X (Special Authors) for Finals. Any other options the candidate would be qualified to teach would be an advantage. The Lecturer would also be expected to teach German language to students of all years, and arrange other teaching as required.
