CAREER DEVELOPMENT FELLOWSHIP IN POLITICS

Applications are invited for a Career Development Fellowship in Politics at St Hugh's College, tenable from 1 October 2009. This is a fixed-term, three-year position intended for an individual who has recently completed a doctorate and wishes to embark on an academic career. It is open to those working in the fields of Comparative Government, European Politics (in particular the politics of Central and/or Eastern Europe), International Relations, Political Sociology or Political Theory.

The post-holder will contribute to the teaching of Politics, both in St Hugh's College and in the Department of Politics and International Relations in the University of Oxford. He or she will be expected to use the period of the Fellowship to begin building an international research profile. The teaching component will therefore be lower than that stipulated for a tenured Fellow or Lecturer. The stipend of the Fellow will be on the University's Academic Scale, Grade 7, currently starting at £28,839 a year. Further particulars can be found at http://www.st-hughs.ox.ac.uk/Current_Vacancies/index.php. The closing date for applications is Friday, 17 April 2009.
