ACADEMIC DIRECTOR

The Centre for the Study of Jewish-Christian Relations wishes to appoint a new Academic Director from 1 September 2009. The post-holder's principal responsibilities will be to serve as Course Director for the University of Cambridge Master of Studies in the Study of Jewish-Christian Relations; to teach courses for Master's level students; to contribute to the teaching of undergraduate level courses (notably students of the Cambridge Theological Federation); and to prepare proposals for and to engage in research.

Applicants should have completed a Ph.D. Degree or equivalent higher degree. The Centre is looking for someone with a strong research and teaching record, or the demonstrable potential to deliver this in the near future. Experience of interdisciplinary teaching and research, and of work with international learners, will be an advantage.

The salary will be in the range of £32,000 to £35,000 a year (pro rata). This post is offered on a five day a week basis. It represents a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced academic to join the pioneering and innovative Centre and to act as its main academic liaison with the University of Cambridge.
