Clemoes Reading Prize: Notice

The Department of Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic invites entries for the 2009 Peter Clemoes Reading Prize. This annual event will take place at 5 p.m. in the English Faculty Building on Wednesday, 6 May 2009.

The competition is open to all junior members of the University. Competitors read or in some way perform a passage in any of the languages taught by the Department (Old English, Old Norse, Insular Latin, Medieval Irish, Medieval Welsh, Medieval Cornish, and Medieval Breton). There is a prize of £100.

Anyone interested in entering this year's competition should submit a 'note of interest' to Mrs Victoria Lever (email vlm32@cam.ac.uk) by Friday, 13 March 2009. The deadline for the submission of chosen passages from entrants will be Wednesday, 29 April 2009.
