Announcement of lectures, seminars, etc.

The following lectures, seminars, etc. will be open to members of the University and others who are interested:

Asian and Middle Eastern Studies and Divinity. Professor Peter Machinist, of Harvard University, will give a paper entitled How Gods die, biblically and otherwise: a problem of cosmic restructuring, at an open meeting of the Old Testament Seminar, at 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 11 March, in the Runcie Room, Faculty of Divinity, West Road.

Gender Studies. Multi-disciplinary Seminar Series. Carlos Santos, visiting student, from New York University, will give a seminar entitled The development of early adolescent boys' gender stereotypic attitudes and beliefs in relationships: implications for well-being, at 1 p.m. on Thursday, 12 March, in Room 101, Sir William Hardy Building, Downing Site.

Isaac Newton Institute. Professor Serguei Novikov, of the University of Maryland, will give a seminar entitled New discretization of complex analysis, at 5 p.m. on Monday, 9 March, at the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences, Clarkson Road. The seminar will be followed by an informal reception at 6 p.m.
