In order to celebrate National Science and Engineering Week and International Women's Day, Cambridge AWiSE (Association for Women in Science and Engineering) and Lucy Cavendish College are joint hosting an event entitled Sparking ideas: utilizing all our talents in science and engineering. The event takes place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, 5 March 2009, at Straithard House, Lucy Cavendish College.
Experience shows that diverse teams are more innovative and effective, yet women are still under-represented at senior levels in both business and academia. Speakers at the event will present the latest research from psychology and economics to show why this is the case and discuss how combining talents is good for everyone.
