University of Oxford Faculty of Oriental Studies in association with St Cross College

UNIVERSITY LECTURERSHIP IN EARLY ISLAMIC HISTORY WITH AN OFFICIAL FELLOWSHIP AT ST CROSS COLLEGE

The University proposes to appoint a University Lecturer in Early Islamic History in association with St Cross College. The appointment will run from 1 October 2009 or as soon as possible thereafter. The person appointed may be offered an Official Fellowship at St Cross College. The salary will be at ULNTF Grade 36S (£42,351 to £56,917 a year).

The successful applicant will be a specialist in one or more fields of Islamic history or studies from the early period until the Mongol invasions (i.e. until c. 1258 CE), and will be able to teach undergraduates and supervise graduate students across the whole field of early Islamic history.
