ALEXANDER DOUGLAS IAN NICOL, CBE, M.A., Ph.D., Emeritus Secretary General of the Faculties, formerly Secretary of the School of the Physical Sciences, Life Fellow of Fitzwilliam College, died on Wednesday, 18 February 2009, aged 87 years.
