Graces submitted to the Regent House on 11 February 2009

The Council submits the following Graces to the Regent House. These Graces, other than any which is withdrawn or for which a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 107), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 20 February 2009.

1. That, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Archaeology and Anthropology and the General Board, the regulations for Affiliated Students be amended as follows:1

Regulation 6.

By amending the paragraph relating to Archaeology and Anthropology so as to read:

Archaeology and Anthropology

If the Faculty Board of Archaeology and Anthropology allow it in a particular case, leave to take Part IIA of the Archaeological and Anthropological Tripos in the second term after the student's first term of actual residence.

2. That the recommendations in paragraph 4 of the Second Report of the General Board, dated 7 January 2009, on Senior Academic Promotions 2008 (Reporter, p. 394) be approved.

3. That the Professorship of Diagnostic Veterinary Pathology be retitled the Professorship of Veterinary Diagnostic Pathology.2

1 Statutes and Ordinances, p. 173. At present Affiliated Students reading for the Archaeological and Anthropological Tripos have the right to take Part IIA at the end of their first year of actual residence, whatever their academic background. This is not always in a student's best interest; it is proposed that in future candidates should be required to obtain the approval of the Faculty Board of Archaeology and Anthropology to commence their intended course of study at this level.

2 This Professorship was established by Grace 5 of 17 December 2008; the revised title more correctly identifies the field with which the Professorship will be concerned.
