DAVID PHILLIPS PROFESSORSHIP OF MOLECULAR BIOPHYSICS

Scientists with both an international reputation in molecular biophysics and substantial scientific promise are invited to apply for the prestigious David Phillips Chair in Molecular Biophysics, tenable from as early a date as can be arranged, based in the Department of Biochemistry, within the Medical Sciences Division. A non-stipendiary Fellowship at Corpus Christi College is attached to the Professorship.

The successful applicant will play a leading role in a team of biophysicists and structural biologists at the heart of a vibrant community of biomedical scientists, within the attractive New Biochemistry Building in Oxford. The principal duty will be to lead world-class research in the area of molecular biophysics, and to establish a flourishing research programme in the first years of tenure. The successful applicant will have an international reputation in scholarship and research, and will be able to demonstrate a record of success in obtaining and managing research funding, and the ability to manage a substantial research team.

PROFESSORSHIP OF MOLECULAR AND POPULATION GENETICS

Applications are invited for the above post, to which an appointment will be made as soon as possible. Oxford is one of the leading UK centres in many fields of cancer and genetic research, and it is intended that the post-holder will lead a major programme of translational research in molecular and population genetics based in the Henry Wellcome Building of Genomic Medicine and/or other research facilities situated at the Old Road Research Campus, Headington, Oxford. The successful candidate will have an outstanding record in relevant research and a demonstrable ability to compete for and to obtain substantial, independent, external grant support.

A non-stipendiary Fellowship at Queen's College is attached to the Professorship.
