SHAW FOUNDATION FELLOWSHIP IN LAW (FIVE YEARS, FIXED-TERM)

Lincoln College invites applications for a five-year, fixed-term, non-renewable Shaw Foundation Fellowship in Law with effect from 1 September 2009 to 31 August 2014. This Fellowship is funded through the generosity of the Shaw Foundation in Singapore.

The successful candidate is likely to be someone in the early stages of an academic career and who will have recently obtained, or be about to obtain, a Doctorate in Law. The Shaw Foundation Fellow will be required to teach the Jurisprudence and Tort papers for the B.A. Degree in Jurisprudence (Law) and to offer tuition in one other specialism, up to a total commitment of six hours a week, averaged over the academical year. The Shaw Foundation Fellow will also have a particular responsibility for leading the College's Academic Outreach programme to Singapore, advising schools and colleges on opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate study in all subjects at the University of Oxford. No prior experience of the Singaporean context is required.

The salary offered corresponds to points 30-34 on the national pay spine for university lecturers, currently £29,704 a year to £33,432 a year. Generous additional benefits include membership of the USS pension scheme, full Common Room rights, hospitality credit, access to the College Research and Equipment Funds, and single-person accommodation in College at a subsidized rate.
