The Clark Lectures for 2009 will be given by Roy Foster, Carroll Professor of Irish History at the University of Oxford, on the subject of 'Words alone are certain good': literature, nationalism, and politics in nineteenth-century Ireland. All are welcome to attend the lectures, which will take place in the Mill Lane Lecture Rooms at 5 p.m. as follows:
