STIPENDIARY LECTURERSHIP IN PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY

St Hugh's College proposes to appoint a four-hour Stipendiary Lecturer in Physical Chemistry, with effect from 1 October 2009, for one year in the first instance. Subject to continued teaching need and satisfactory performance, the post may be renewed on a year-by-year basis.

The Lecturer will be expected to teach (in tutorials and classes) four hours each week averaged over the three terms (twenty-four weeks) of the academical year. In addition, the Lecturer will be expected to play a role in the running of Chemistry in the College, including participating in the admissions process, setting and marking College examinations, and assisting with the pastoral care of undergraduates.

The annual stipend for the post will be on a scale starting at £8,051 a year and will be pensionable. The Lecturer will be a member of the St Hugh's Senior Common Room. ARCHIVIST (PART-TIME)

St Hugh's College requires a part-time Archivist to begin work as soon as possible. The salary will be in the range of £14,400 a year (full time equivalent £24,000 a year).

The post-holder will be responsible for efficient archive and records management and for providing relevant information and services to members of the College and external parties.

The post-holder will need a good first degree (in any subject) and a Society of Archivists approved postgraduate qualification in Archives and Records Management, together with knowledge of national archiving cataloguing standards.
