Exeter College

POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN POLITICS/INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

The College proposes to appoint a fixed-term postdoctoral Fellow in Politics. The position, which is strictly temporary, will be tenable for two years from 1 October 2009 until 30 September 2011, renewable for a third and final year until 1 September 2012. Applicants are expected to have a research interest specifically in International Relations. The Fellow will be required to undertake tutorial or class teaching of undergraduates reading for the Honour School of Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (or equivalent) up to a maximum of six (weighted) hours a week averaged over the three terms of the academical year, to set and mark College examinations, and to participate in the admissions process. (Details of the PPE syllabus are given in the further particulars.) The Fellow will be paid at point 1 on the University's Academic Grade 7 (currently £27,466).

Applications, including a curriculum vitae, a short statement of the applicant's completed and proposed research, a list of the papers which the applicant would be prepared to teach, and the names of two referees, should be sent to the Academic Administrator, to be received not later than 2 March 2009. Shortlisted candidates will be notified in early March. Referees should be asked to write without request from the College, their letters to be received by the Academic Administrator not later than the closing date.
