Announcement of lectures, seminars, etc.

The following lectures, seminars, etc. will be open to members of the University and others who are interested:

Economics. The Marshall Lectures 2008-09. Professor Daron Acemoglu, of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, will deliver two lectures entitled Persistence and change in institutions, in the Lady Mitchell Hall, Sidgwick Avenue, at 5 p.m. on 10 and 11 February. Professor Acemoglu will hold a seminar in the Hall immediately after the second lecture.

Engineering. Dynamics and vibrations tea time talks will take place on Fridays at 4 p.m. in the Oatley Seminar Room, Department of Engineering, Trumpington Street. 6 March The statistics of the responses of offshore structures in spreading seas, by Ms Yahui Zhang, of the Engineering Department.
Micro-electro-mechanical resonators for signal processing, by Dr Jize Yan, of the Engineering Department.

Gender Studies. Multi-disciplinary Seminar Series. Dr Jens Scherpe, of the Faculty of Law, will give a seminar entitled Changing one's legal gender, at 1 p.m. on Thursday, 22 January, in Room 101, Sir William Hardy Building, Downing Site.

History and Economics. Seminars take place on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. in the B-Dining Room, Trinity Hall, Trinity Lane.
