The Council has accepted recommendations from the Nominating Committee for the appointment of four members of the Council in class (e) (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 116) and is submitting Graces to the Regent House (Graces 1-4, p. 359) for the approval of the reappointment of Mr Nigel W. Brown and Lord Simon of Highbury, CAI, as members of the Council in that class to serve for two years from 1 January 2009, and for the approval of the appointment of Ms Vanessa Lawrence and Dame Mavis McDonald, as members of the Council in that class to serve from 1 January 2009 for four years. The Council has agreed that, subject to the approval of Grace 1, Mr Brown be reappointed as Chair of the Council's Audit Committee.
